Terms of Service
Effective 2026-07-06. Operator: Cannon Valley Research, LLC (support@jimvite.com).
1. Service
jimvite (the "Service") is an invitation-management tool operated by Cannon Valley Research, LLC (the "Operator"). Registered hosts (each a "Host") use the Service to record their own contacts, create events, send invitations, and track RSVPs over email and SMS. Each Host's contacts, events, and responses are private to that Host. The Service is provided free of charge to invited guests.
2. Who may use the Service
The Service is intended for use by (a) the Operator, (b) Hosts who have been granted access — the initial Host is seeded by the Operator, and additional Hosts are added by an existing Host via the in-app invite flow — and (c) individuals invited to an event by a Host. Only Hosts sign in; guests interact with the Service through invitation links and SMS replies without creating an account.
3. Host responsibilities
If you use the Service as a Host, you represent and warrant that:
- Each contact you add has explicitly agreed to receive event invitations and reminders from you at the email address or phone number you enter.
- Every SMS consent attestation you record in the Service is truthful and current. You are responsible for maintaining a legally-sufficient consent record for each phone number you enable for SMS, and for honoring any opt-out (whether recorded in the Service via STOP or communicated to you directly).
- You will not use the Service for marketing, promotional, political, fundraising, or unlawful purposes; only for personal, community, or organizational event invitations to individuals who know you and have agreed to hear from you.
- You will not add contacts belonging to another person, and you will not share your sign-in credentials with anyone.
The Operator may suspend or remove a Host, or delete data associated with a Host, for violation of these terms, for repeated delivery complaints (bounces, spam reports, opt-out complaints), or as required by third-party providers.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to (a) use the Service to send spam or unlawful content, (b) attempt to access data belonging to another Host, event, or contact you do not own, (c) probe, scan, or otherwise attempt to breach the security of the Service, or (d) use the Service in a way that violates the acceptable-use policies of the underlying email or SMS providers (currently Amazon SES and Amazon End User Messaging SMS).
5. SMS messages
SMS messages sent by the Service are transactional invitations and reminders. A Host may send SMS only to contacts for whom the Host has recorded an explicit consent attestation in the Service. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency depends on the events you're invited to. To stop receiving SMS from a Host, reply STOP — opt-outs are honored for that number across all events. For help, reply HELP. See our Privacy Policy for how SMS content is processed.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Delivery of invitations and reminders depends on third-party email and SMS carriers and is not guaranteed.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service. The Operator is not responsible for the content of messages composed by a Host or for a Host's compliance with laws applicable to their own use of the Service; each Host is responsible for their own messaging practices.
8. Changes
These Terms may change from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Minnesota, USA.
